The trial into the death of Thomas Downey is due to begin later today. Darrell Richards, 46 and of no fixed address, stands charged with Mr Downey's murder in Bath last Christmas. The body of Mr Downey was found under an archway, off Lower Bristol Road on Christmas Eve 2014. He had died from significant head injuries. Richards denies the charge. The trial, expected to last up to two weeks, will begin at Bristol Crown Court at 2pm on Tuesday, December 8. * More soon.
